Voices of Trust and Success
Over the past two years, online learning tools have become integral to our daily lives. From remote work to virtual learning, collaboration tools, video apps, and online training have become the norm. It’s easy to see why these tools are so popular: they offer the convenience of training anytime, anywhere, and often at a lower cost.
But are online first aid courses legitimate in the UK? The answer varies.
In the UK, online first aid courses are great for those wanting to learn the basics for personal use. However, they do not provide a qualification that is suitable for workplace requirements
All first aid courses expire after 3 years, although we always recommend yearly updates, see below for free practice by The British Heart Foundation!
The duration of a first aid course depends on the type of training you choose. Whether you’re looking for basic skills, workplace certifications, or advanced outdoor first aid, each course is tailored to meet specific needs. Below is a breakdown of course types and their durations:
• Basic Life Support – 3 hours
• Emergency First Aid at Work – 6 hours (1 day)
• First Aid at Work – 18 hours (3 days)
• First Aid at Work Requalification – 12 hours (2 days)
• Forestry and Farming First Aid Bolt-On – 3 hours
• Emergency Outdoor First Aid – 6 hours (1 day)
• Outdoor Advanced First Aid – 12 hours (2 days)
• Administration of Oxygen Therapy – 6 hours (1 day)
• Management of Anaphylaxis – 6 hours (1 day)
• Airway Management – 3 hours
These times reflect the core training hours required to complete each course effectively. If you’re unsure which course suits your needs, consider the specific environment or scenario you’re preparing for, such as workplace requirements, outdoor activities, or specialist medical situations.
